Gabby I am thrilled that we finally are working together on “new development” learning for EY-P S&E. I’ve known since we first met that your instructional design skills were special. I didn’t have any idea how special they were, though, until you first presented your design for the Growing as a Trusted Advisor course. Your ability to hear and dig into the client need and design something unique and creative to address the need has translated into a course design that has astounded me. I’m confident your design will have a profound impact on managers in EY-Parthenon and the way they think about/develop their client relationships.
As I reflect on the many strengths you bring to our team, the following stand out to me:
- You have a unique ability to create impactful learning based on the business need. In addition, you do this with beautiful enthusiasm. We have talked for years about how to address a mindset shift in learning, where we try to address this before teaching a new/improved/different way of doing something. Your design for Growing as a Trusted Advisor is the first that I’ve seen that has the ability to evoke an emotional, powerful buy-in from participants. It involves the psychology of human behavior and change with a fun, actionable activity. Further, it takes the personal motivation of learners and uses that as a case for change when teaching a new way to converse with clients.
- While implied above, this type of design requires a deep understanding of human nature, of our SaT client professionals and the crux of the current situation. You’ve taken all of these considerations and blended them with a simple, yet powerful learning design that has the power to effectuate real change.
- Additionally, you harness your past experience and intelligence to innovative learning. You’ve taken all the best of your experience on the Markets team and everything you know about EY-Parthenon into consideration in your design of this course. Our SMR on this project knows more about the desired future state for our learners than anyone I know and even he has been astounded at the power of the activities you’ve designed. (Note: He helped create the GCSP role and all GCSP learning for the firm, so he is an expert in the space himself.)
